This teapot is created by the famous Tokoname master Junzo Maekawa.

This teapot is crafted using authentic Tokoname clay , which naturally has warm brown and tawny tones. Tokoname is one of the six ancient pottery centers of Japan , where master potters have been making pottery for over eight centuries.

Local clay is valued for its special properties – it not only gives the dishes a unique color palette, but also subtly enhances the taste of tea.

ABOUT THE MANUFACTURER

Junzo Maekawa (g. 1976 m., Tokonamės mieste, Aichi prefektūroje) yra keramikas, tęsiantis šeimos „Maekawa keramikos dirbtuvių“ tradicijas.

Baigęs Nagojos universiteto inžinerijos studijas, jis nusprendė atsiduoti menui ir įstojo į Kioto tradicinių amatų mokyklą, kur 2004 m. sėkmingai baigė keramikos studijas. Po to patirties įgijo dirbdamas Akacuya keramikos dirbtuvėse „Matsuyama Seito Co., Ltd.“

Šiuo metu Junzo Maekawa yra visiškai atsidavęs šeimos dirbtuvėms, kuriose kuria unikalius keramikos darbus, jungiančius tradicijas ir šiuolaikinę estetiką.
