This Tokoname teapot (kyusu) has centuries of history and tradition and is one of the most distinctive pieces of Japanese pottery.

It is designed to be easy to use and to reveal the special properties of the clay, which give the tea a rich, full-bodied taste.

Over time and with use, the surface of the teapot will become gently smooth, and the connection with this vessel will become ever closer.

Teapot care

After using kyusu, rinse it immediately under running water, do not leave it unwashed.

  • If you notice any dirt or stains inside the kyusu, gently clean them with a soft brush.

  • Be careful not to press or rub the strainer too hard as it may tear.

  • After using the kyūsu, dry it thoroughly and only then put it back in place.
